How to Care for Your Stray Hero Pieces

Your Stray Hero piece is made to last. Here's how to keep it that way.

All our garments are printed using direct-to-garment (DTG) technology — ink is pressed directly into the fabric fibres, not just sitting on top. That means the print moves with the garment, breathes with it, and holds up wash after wash — if you treat it right.

The Rules

Wash inside out. Always. This is the single most important thing you can do. It keeps the print away from friction and protects the colour.

Cold or 30°C maximum. Hot water breaks down the ink and shrinks the fabric. Stick to 30°C or below.

No tumble dryer. Heat is the enemy of DTG prints. Air dry flat or hang — never machine dry.

Don't iron directly on the print. If you need to iron, turn the garment inside out or use a cloth between the iron and the print.

No bleach. Ever. It will destroy both the fabric and the print.

The Fabrics

Hoodies (Bella+Canvas 3719): 52% airlume combed ring-spun cotton, 48% poly fleece. Pre-shrunk. Wash inside out at 30°C, air dry.

Tees (Comfort Colors 1717): 100% ring-spun cotton, garment-dyed. The dye gives the vintage texture — cold wash only to preserve the colour and feel.

Longsleeeves: 100% airlume combed ring-spun cotton. Same rules as the tees.

Crop Hoodies: 52% airlume combed ring-spun cotton, 48% poly fleece. Same rules as the hoodies.

Snapbacks + Beanies: Hand wash cold only. Do not machine wash. Air dry.

First Wash

Wash your new piece alone or with similar dark colours the first time. Garment-dyed pieces like the Comfort Colors tees may release a small amount of dye in the first wash — that's normal and won't affect the print or the garment.

Take care of it. It was made for you.
